Barracudas - Drop Out With The

Excellent surf/garage album that has stood up to the test of time extremely well, I can't believe it has been 30 years, shit I remember buying the vinyl when it first came out. This is an old ESD re-issue, give it a listen and see what's been missing from your collection all these years.

The Mystic Tide - Solid Sound/Solid Ground

Who could forget Long Island’s legendary psychedelic rockers, the Mystic Tide? The band that gave us tried and true classics such as “Frustration” and “Running Through The Night.”

Sonny Flaharty & The Mark V - Hey Conductor

“Hey Conductor” is a classic psychedelic garage tune with great fuzzy guitars and swirling Vox organ. Originally released in 1967 on Counterpart and then picked up by Phillips. The record was rising fast, garnering national attention, until it was promptly banned on account of “...contained the most flagrant psychedelic lyric ever written” and “condoned the use of drugs.” The balance of tracks on this collection appear to be songs recorded for an unreleased album, “Can’t Buy My Soul” was also released as a single.

The Bomboras - It Came From Pier 13!

Here is a rippin' good neo-surf album, probably my favorite from the band, which is now sadly out of print.

The Gaiety Records Story

Not to be confused with the legendary Gaity label from Minnesota, this Gaiety was Canadian. Lots of great stuff on board, starting off with one of my favorite Canadian tunes "Shake Yourself Down" by The Checkerlads.

The Vacant Lot - Wrong

Wrong was the second release by the Vacant Lot. It was recorded as the band was disintegrating, and yeah it shows.

The Vacant Lot - ...Because They Can

Because They Can is the debut album from this pop-punk outfit from New York. Along side great originals there is a killer version of the We Five’s “You Were On My Mind.”

The Pleasure Fuckers -Ripped To The Tits

Here is an awesome trashy garage album from Spain, recommended if you enjoy bands such as the Candy Snatchers, Nashville Pussy, Hookers, Zeke, Chinese Millionaires, Humpers, Teengenerate etc etc etc.

The Insomniacs - Wake Up!

Great compilation of miscellaneous EP, 7" and 10" tracks from this New Jersey trio of mod-popsters. Make sure to check out other Insomniacs titles that are still in print like Out Of It, Get Something Going or their latest Just Enjoy It!

Perfect Eyesight - One & Two

As long as we’re in skinny tie mode, here is another pair of great albums from the band who gave us the immortal power pop classic “Yellow Pills.” From the days when the term power pop didn’t exist, and we called this stuff new wave. This release, sadly out of print and fetching ridiculous amounts of money, pairs the bands first and second albums together on one disc. Great stuff!

Shoes - Present Tense/Tongue Twister

You’re not likely to find a more perfectly crafted pair of power pop albums, especially two by the same band. I know that everybody already has this, or maybe even the original vinyl, but there may be some stragglers out there who have not had the pleasure of hearing these two gems, this post is for you. And as always please support the band by buying this and other Shoes releases!

Fort Worth Teen Scene - Vol. 3

Here is the third and final volume of the excellent Fort Worth Teen Scene series. Make sure to purchase your very own copy and get the booklet that accompanies this disc, it’s full of band biographies and pictures. You probably couldn’t even buy one of the 45’s on this compilation for the price of the CD, so show Norton a little love.

Fort Worth Teen Scene - Vol. 2

Hey gang, it's been quite some time since my last post, time flies when you're having fun right. I've been enjoying lots of great dirt late model racing around the midwest lately, which unfortunately doesn't leave a whole lot of spare time for blogging. I know I left the Fort Worth Teen Scene series hangin' after posting the first volume, so I am going to rectify that situation right now. Any compilation that has "My Confusion" by the Elite in it's track listing is destined to be top notch, check it out and see.
