The Cobblers - Smokin’ At The Half Note (Studio City SC 1060)

Smokin’ At The Half Note, a great garage record from this Oshkosh Wisconsin band, recorded in 1966. The band would go on to record a single on the local Tee Pee label as Syndicate.

Sixties Rebellion - Vol. 4 The Go-Go

The Moon-Dawgs - “You’re No Good” b/w “Baby, As Time Goes By” (Bofuz BF-1115)

Here’s a good one from The Moon-Dawgs on Bofuz, “Baby, As Time Goes By” has been comped on Gravel vol. 1 and Highs In The Mid Sixties vol. 13, but I don’t believe the flip “You’re No Good” has been comped before. The band is believed to come from Louisiana, in fact they have one killer track on the Eva comp Louisiana Punk From The Sixties.

Sixties Rebellion - Vol. 3 The Auditorium

The Coachmen - Mr. Moon (Bear 1974)

The Coachmen had a big midwest hit with Mr. Moon in 1966, the band was from Lincoln Nebraska.

The Young Tyrants - “I Try!” b/w “She Don’t Got The Right!” (IN 101)

Nice two sider from The Young Tyrants issued on In Records in 1967.

The Sons of May - Morning Dew (Sonic 2746)

Nice northwoods version of Morning Dew by this Rhinelander Wisconsin band from 1967. The Sonic and Hodag labels were both imprints of Audio Unlimited Records, owned by Michael Kuehl. You may also be familiar with Hodag for releasing the killer I Don’t Care by Gord’s Horde, which was comped on Highs In The Mid Sixties volume 15.

Gil Bateman - Wicked Love (Panorama PAN-1022)

The Bostweeds - Little Bad News (Chattahoochee CH-689-2)

The Woggles - Teen Dance Party

Another out of print gem from The Woggles, Teen Dance Party was the bands debut LP, released on Estrus in 1993. If you dig the bands first two albums there are plenty of Woggles still in print you might consider purchasing. There are also a few albums on Telstar (Fractured and Get Tough) that are also out of print, I may post these in the future.

The Woggles - The Zontar Sessions

The Zontar Sessions, the second long player from The Woggles, long out of print. This is a collection of cuts from the bands first four singles, originally released between 1990-1993.

Blue Wood - Turn Around (Jet Set JSR-45-4)

The Mod Fun - Hangin' Round EP (Making Tyme 1985)

This New York band released their first single on their own label in 1984. After signing a deal with Midnight Records came the release of 90 Wardour St., their first long player. After the bands deal with Midnight went south, the band released this EP on there own Making Tyme label. The band would continue to record an album for Cryptovision in 1986. They disbanded in the late eighties, only to reunite in 2004, and have been active since.

The Vers - “Without You” b/w “Five Year Love” (Ignorus 7766)

Great two sided punk rock/new wave single from The Vers, who grew out of Monroe Wisconsin hard rock band called Yancy Derringer. Get the full story of Yancy Derringer and The Vers from Zoid Asteroid Machine here. Also a CD with 18 Vers tracks is available as well as a live show from 1979, so if you dig these guys you may want to check these items out, they will not be posted here.

The Greenhornes - Gun For You (1999)

“Gun For You,” the great debut from Cincinnati Ohio’s own Greenhornes. Great garage rock with lots of blues and soul inspiration. This has a great up front organ sound, permeating throughout the proceedings. I can hear definite influences from the likes of the Animals and Kinks. Over the years the bands lineup would change frequently, for this recording the band consisted of  Craig Fox on guitar and lead vocals, Patrick Keeler on drums, Jack Lawrence on bass, Jared McKinney on organ and vocals, and Brian Olive on guitar and vocal.

The Combenashuns “What’cha Gonna Do?” (Leo 3801)

“What’cha Gonna Do?” was the flip side of the “Hey! Uncle Sam,” which was comped on the second volume of Follow That Munster, here is a YouTube link of that song. This has a New England sound, the band was reportedly from Pennsylvania.

The Geers “I Need Love” (SSS International SSS-760)

Next up The Geers with “I Need You,” single sided white label promo on the SSS International label, sounds like the Grass Roots in the garage.

The Forum Quorum (Decca DL 75030) 1968

Nice record from this forgotten New York band, released on Decca in 1968. These guys could have, should have, would have as they had quite a long list of accomplishments. This is one of those LP’s that shouldn’t be neglected, maybe someday a cool reissue label like Sundazed will give this thing a proper reintroduction. For a great in depth and detailed history of the Forum Quorum go here.

The Swingin' Neckbreakers - The Return Of Rock

The Return Of Rock, the fourth and sadly the final record from The Swingin’ Neckbreakers, released in 2000. According to the bands website the band played in NYC in July of this year, no other dates are listed, so it may have been a one shot deal. A big thank you to the Swingin’ Neckbreakers for all the memorable and great music throughout the years!

The Swingin' Neckbreakers - Kick Your Ass

The Swingin’ Neckbreakers third record, Kick Your Ass, brought some lineup changes. Jeff Jefferson replaced Don “Shaggy” Snook on guitar and vocals. But the Swingin’ Neckbreakers classic sound was still in place with even more originals this time around.

The Swingin' Neckbreakers - Shake Break!

The Swingin’ Neckbreakers followed up Live For Buzz with Shake Break! Another great set of 15 tracks of wonderful rockin’ Tom Jorgensen originals and tasteful covers, which picks up right where Live For Buzz left off, a great sophomore effort.

The Swingin' Neckbreakers - Live For Buzz

Good grief, it’s been almost seventeen years since this record hit the streets. It still sounds as awesome today as it did in 1993, a classic garage record if there ever was one. A great mix of well chosen covers alongside some great band originals make Live For Buzz a well balanced rockin’ record. The Swingin' Neckbreakers were brothers Tom (bass, lead vocals) and John (drums, vocals) Jorgensen, with Don “Shaggy” Snook (guitar, vocals). I know just about everybody already has this excellent record, but for those who may have missed it, here is your chance to check it out. Please support these guys, if you dig this record make sure to purchase your very own copy.
