Killer rockabilly from this Texas outfit. The band started in Dallas in 1996 with Kim Lenz (vocals, rhythm guitar), Mike Lester (lead guitar), Jake Erwin (stand up bass) and Robert Hamilton (drums). Their self-titled debut was recorded live in studio without any overdubs for a fabulous authentic sound. Kim would release The One and Only on Hightone in 1999 with a new Jaguars lineup. More recently Kim has released It’s All True on Riley in 2009. If you ever get the chance to see her perform live, take it! Kim is a spark plug! And as always if you like what you hear, please support these artists by purchasing their music and attending a show.

Orphan Egg
2005 Radioactive reissue of the debut (and only) album from Orphan Egg, originally released in 1968 on Carole, a short lived GNP Crescendo subsidiary. Nice assortment of commercial psych sounds, typical for the the period, with four or five stand out tracks. Orphan Egg were from San Jose, California, band members were Jim Bate, George Brix, Pat Gallagher, Dave Monley and Barry Smith. The band also appears on the “Cycle Savages” soundtrack, I believe the band also had a cameo appearance in the film.

Tony's Tygers - Little By Little (Teen Town, 1968)
Tony’s Tygers hailed from Milwaukee Wisconsin and unleashed their sole album Little By Little in 1968 on the Teen Town label. A&M picked up the single Little By Little, the bands first record, for national release. An album and a few more singles followed, but further success was elusive. The album contained eight band originals and great vocal performances by the band. Don’t expect any blistering garage though, this is strictly a sixties pop album.
Bedlam - Bedlam (Buy Our Records, 1984)
Anyone dig good old eighties hardcore? Yeah I didn’t think so, but I’m gonna post this for all two of you anyhow. Bedlam is a great self titled debut album from this New Jersey hardcore outfit, released in 1984 on the Buy Our Records label. Bedlam plays with plenty of energy, buzzsaw guitars, gruff vocals. Some serious and hilarious lyric content also add to the excitement. There is one more 12" by these guys out there from 1986, it’s titled Lost In Space and can be found here.

The Fifth Estate - Ding Dong! The Witch Is Back!
Originally formed in Stamford, Connecticut as the D-Men in 1964. The band recorded for four different labels between 1964 and 1967, and scored a smash hit with “Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead” in 1967. Fortunately Ding Dong was not indicative of the bands sound, Ding Dong! The Witch Is Back! collects all the singles plus lots of extras. Dig the great British influenced Love Is A Game, Like I Love You, Don't You Know and So Little Time plus the great garage of I Just Don't Care and the rather Beatleish Morning, Morning. Top notch stuff!

Stoned Alchemy: 27 Original Blues and R&B Hits That Inspired The Rolling Stones
Stoned Alchemy is a fun and interesting CD to spin, and it doubles as a great introduction to some classic Blues and R&B artists for those who are unfamiliar. It wasn’t just the Rolling Stones that these tunes inspired, but countless other British sixties acts as well, such as the Pretty Things, Yardbirds and Animals just for starters. With lots of Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf tunes, this thing is solid, and it’s nice to have all these great songs on one disc. Enjoy!
