Baltimore’s Teen Beat A Go Go

This is actually a reissue of a collection released back in the day on Dome Records, pressed up in a quantity of 500. These bands wound up on Baltimore Teen Beat A Go Go for placing first or second in local Battle of the Bands shows sponsored by Ralph Johnson president of Wedge and Dome Records. A great snapshot of the Baltimore sixties scene.

Richard X. Heyman - Basic Glee

You know I’m pretty sure the majority of you have heard this infectious power pop gem. If on the off chance there are a few of you who have not had the pleasure of hearing Basic Glee, I’m gonna throw it up here just for you. This DIY gem was produced, written and performed by Richard with some help from his wife Nancy Leigh. There is plenty of jangly Rickenbacker guitar and plenty of great hooks to please any discerning power pop fan. Copies of this should be easy to find at an affordable price, so please support this guy by seeking out this and some of his other recordings.

Sir Douglas Quintet - The Crazy Cajun Recordings

The Sir Douglas Quintet/Doug Sahm shouldn’t need any introductions, one of the best Tex-Mex bands ever. This is a nifty two disc collection that showcases the melting pot of styles these guys conjured up. So perhaps you have only heard She’s About A Mover or Mendocino, here is your chance to check out the great music these guys left behind.

Acetate Euphoria

Next up we have four volumes of unissued sixties garage acetates. These four volumes are filled with fabulous tunes. These will be posted for a limited time, because these are still readily available. My hope is that many of you will hear these and just have to purchase your own copies. Most of you serious garageaholics have these on your shelf already anyway... right?

Jason And The Nashville Scorchers - Reckless Country Soul

These guys need no introduction, probably the best roots rock/alternative country/cow punk band around (in my mind anyway). Reckless Country Soul is a re-release of the long out of print first recordings from Jason And The Nashville Scorchers along with studio rarities from the Fervor album. Tracks 1-4 comprise the original Reckless Country Soul EP, originally recorded January 9, 1982. Also from that session but not released was Hello Walls. Tracks 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 were recorded November 29 & 30, 1982 at Sun Studios.

She - Wants A Piece Of You

From Sacramento comes She, previously known as The Hairem. She was an all female sixties punk/garage band formed by sisters Nancy Ross and Sally Ross-Moore. She played and sang their original music with plenty of attitude and a rough edge, yet with a certain prowess. Wants A Piece Of You collects what remains of the bands recorded legacy, unfortunately some Hairem tracks have not survived the years. Sadly this collection is currently out of print, but as always if you can find a copy I wouldn’t hesitate to have this on the shelf.

Get Hot Or Go Home: Vintage RCA Rockabilly '56-'59

Get Hot Or Go Home, 33 fantastic rockabilly tracks from the RCA vaults for you to bop along with. This makes a nice companion piece for anyone with That’ll Flat Git It Vol. 1, which has more tracks from RCA, there is some duplication of certain tracks however.

Yesterday’s Dawn - Sixteen Vintage Victors From The Garage Vaults

A nice well rounded collection of sixteen sixties obscurities on this limited pressing.
